the arts and beautiful songs she contribute to make this world more harmonious

Once she's exposed to drug, there is no more running away from it,
Drugs is something that took her down forever,
It ruins her gorgeous pure singing voice,
It ruins her beautiful exotic face,
It just totally ruins her ....

Whitney Houston still will be mourned by many, millions of people,
Whitney Houston still will be missed a lot,
and obviously her songs still alive and remembered as Great Songs Ever.

Chinese New Year in Indonesia

now that people with Chinese background / heritage may enjoy the Chinese New Year freely in Indonesia like today is what we need to thank our ex president "Gus Dur".  It's a Gift from him that Indonesia now a days may experience, tolerate, and view the beauty of Chinese Culture in Indonesia.

Electronic media, TVs, Radios, newspaper, Mall, Leisure Parks, wherever we see and hear during the past week is about Chinese New Year or so called: Imlek Celebrations and its culture, its past history, its routines, habits, etc.  It's beautiful that more and more people start to appreciate the plurality that our country Indonesia has.  May the Pluralism and Tolerance Among Indonesian People Being Kept in the Spirit, because A Stronger Country is Country whose People can Appreciate All Differences. 

My best regard to belated Gus Dur in heaven who had started to make little difference for more beautiful Indonesia.

who doesn't know Tom Cruise now and 10 years ago or even 30 years ago. Perhaps most people of this earth somehow knows him and some idolize him.

i listened to this 'Kokomo' song by The Beach Boys in the radio while i drive back home from the office. It flashed me back to oooo maybe 20 to 25 years ago ?? ... listening to this song of course naturally it brings me to remember Tom Cruise.... how at that age, i think he was the MOST Handsome American Actor available, hehe,,, (agak lebay.com) .. but it's true,,,

Tom Cruise as a very stylish bartender, the way he juggled , the way he acts, him with the Hawaiian shirt ... so mesmerized ...

can't exactly remember what the movie Cocktail was all about.

Hit Man "David Foster" Live Show

started about 3 weeks ago when i watched the David Foster's Hit Man Show at Ritz Carlton Hotel advertisement, October 27th 2010 on TV, i searched on the websites on the price of the tickets ... unfortunately, the ticket price of his show is extremely expensive ... i think it's the most expensive from the other international stars who had their show here in Jakarta ... price ticket started from 1 million (not seated, i forget??) -- the cheapest seated is Rp 3 million going up to Rp 7.5 million.... WoW, such price is definitely out of My League, hiks hiks

actually when thinking bout the ticket price for one as big as David Foster, it's all worth it, more over, he is bringing some other Great Singer such as Natalie Cole, Peter Cetera, and i forget who else ... really is too bad, i simply can't afford ... not along show ticket performance for Rp 3 million, buying handphone for Rp 3 million i already thought very long time before buying it, hahaha ...

i hope there is some kind of his performance on tv later on maybe several months after this ... 

this is a live show of David Foster and Peter Cetera (from Chicago) back at 2002, i search from youtube  ..... btw, talking bout Peter Cetera and Chicago, they were another big stars in my years back then and their songs either from the Peter Cetera himself or the Chicago his previous group before he turned into solo career were quite phenomenal to me till now a days.

Blame for the Natural Disaster

all i heard when i opened the TV, flipping from channel to channel,people blaming our President, Mr. SBY...for all the natural disaster that just happen in our country ...

honestly, people ...

stop looking for who to blame,

stop talking on TV,

start taking action.

start by little step,

if you have money and time,

go out there, join the volunteers,

if you have money,

go find a bonafide and trustworthy charity organization,

and share little of your money to help the victims of volcanoes and tsunami ..

it's very tiring to hear and watch people commenting bout this...

i was thinking... Is Our President, Mr. SBY wants "his" people to suffer or die from the horrible tsunami or volcanoes ...of course, not!!!  ...he doesn't want all of these to happen to his people....nobody in their right mind living in this country "LIKE" incidents (such as natural disasters as big as tsunami or mountain volcanoes) to happen ... not along in our own country, we don't want this to happen anywhere in the world ... period ....

this is soo typical  ...

always try to look for scapegoat ,

who to blame ...

every disaster becomes politics issue..

as for now, the Tsunami victim in Mentawai already reach 414 people dead, uncountable sufferings...

so does the Merapi Volcano victims in Jogjakarta ..

we know all the fact that:

Indonesia is in rank 130 something from the world...

Uruguay is in rank 7 of the world...

(not to mention the progress record of Uruguay is the 4th winner in the World Cup 2010 just few months ago)

Indonesia leads the game by 1-0 in the first half of game by BOAS, one of the Indonesian national team ...

what do we expect ... we know that we are going to lose, right ..

it's not the score we care about ...

what i like bout this game is:

• we have to see how Uruguay team play, eventhough they only play against Indonesia, but they still give 100% of their efforts, not looking down at all ... with the world level player like Suarez, still playing seriously ...
• another thing we can see the difference of the physical endurance, the speed, the stability of the players in bringing the ball is just whole different level from the two ..

Anyway, it's good to see them in Jakarta .. yesterday night, i was watching news, i saw those Uruguay soccer players were walking around in one of the mall in Jakarta, wo wo wo... soo tall and looking reallly good ..  athletes, oh athletes ...    they were surrounded by crowds asking for signatures and photo taking... hehehe ..

oo, btw, Diego Forlan doesn't come ... but Luis Suarez and the other world cup players do come ...

pembicaranya terdiri dari Utut Ardianto (ex atlit catur), Neneng (ex atlit karate), and satu lagi lupa sapa nama si bapak ini tp dia mewakili Departemen Olahraga

i found the discussion was interesting
ternyata hampir di semua cabang olahraga indonesia boleh dibilang menurun,
dari segi prestasi international maupun nasional, jumlah pemain yg handal, kualitas pemain yg handal,,,
anyway pointnya sport indonesia going down...

bbrp alasannya adalah:
faktor pendanaan dari pemerintah (walaupun mereka akui sekarang sudah lebih baik sedikit daripada jaman dulu), meaning pemerintah sudah mulai memperhatikan kelayakan sarana2 olahraga yang ada... duh kasihan deh, menurut mrk bbrp dari gedungnya aja dah ga layak,,, lha kalo kayak gini, gimana bisa mencetak pemain yg berkualitas...ck ck ck..

faktor lain adalah tekhnik & management pelatihan kurang memadai, meaning cara/sistem pelatihan ga bagus, orang2 yang melatih (which is most likely from the atlet themselves, they are not supported with a good management training skill), banyak cara2 & tekhnik2 pelatihan yang sudah ga dipakai lagi di banyak negara, makanya bibit2 baru sebelum mrk  sampai ke "golden productive age" sudah banyak yang jenuh, atau cedera permanen yang mengakibatkan mereka juga ogah lanjut,   dll..... 
gubrak ... aduh denger ini, kok jadi miris ya, meskipun diriku ga suka sport, tp kok ya sampe begini parahnya ya olahraga indonesia  ... walah, walah ..

faktor lain-lainya banyak sekali antara lain:  dengan kurangnya dana, memberikan dampak pemain2 yang dulu untuk rangking2 tertentu nasional sudah banyak dikirimkan ke kancah internasional/asia , sekarang tidak byk yang dikirimkan -- padahal menurut mereka dengan banyaknya bertanding di luar negeri, pemain jadi tau kompetisi nya seperti apa -- alhasil byk dari pemain kita yang so called "demam panggung" kalo ketemu lawan luar ..... weleh, weleh , indonesia jangan dipupuk ya budaya minder....

dari semua faktor yang sudah dijelaskan oleh mrk, ada 1 faktor penting yang kalo menurut ku sangat penting:

Peranan Media di dalam membangun Olah raga Indonesia...

Media sekarang terutama tv lebih seneng membahas hal2 yang meninggikan rating,

contohnya kasus Peter Porn smp sekarang ga ada habisnya, bbrp waktu yang lalu kasus Buaya Cicak, banyak lah contoh2nya .. pokoknya yang berbau2 kontroversi & provokasi itulah yg diminati oleh media sekarang untuk dipertontonkan ...

inilah akibatnya ...

 Masa iya diantara 230 juta penduduk ga bisa membentuk let's say 2 good team of football (soccer),, bulutangkis gimana nich (dulu all england -- dr 5 , 4 nya all indonesian final -- skrg jauh ,,, karate (menurut Neneng - dulu sih Vietnam ga masuk itungan sm Indonesia) skrg sm Vietnam aja kalah ... Catur (menurut Utut - juara 1 catur stiap pulang bertanding ngumpulin dollar, smp yg ratusan juta dollar, puluhan juta dollar terkumpul , dan indonesia?) --- hehehe ....

Indonesia, country with population as much as 230 million, We SHOULD BE GOOD AT ONE SPORT

just now, watching "Exclusive Interview with Obama" by Putra Nababan @ RCTI..
the interview runs very well, relaxed mode ...


It was quite amusing & touching  to watch how  mr. Obama still remember the Indonesian language, even stated that he wanted his family to know more of how beautiful & diverse indonesia is ... the interview itself gives me the impression that he loves indonesia...



Before entering the White House (too bad, long time ago when i was in Washington DC, the White House was not opened for tourist due to the some renovation) for the Big Interview, Mr. Putra Nababan (let's just say  PN) interviewed several people who pass around in front of the White House ...

This section was put as the introduction  ....
He asked people in random, in various ethnics, various profession, some men some women...
Some of the questions to those people are something like this:
1.  how do you see the work of president obama for his first year?
2.  do you know where indonesia is?
3.  do you know that president obama spent his 4 years of childhood in indonesia?

answering the 2nd questions, most answered in a very confuse mode on...
" indonesia ,,hhhmmmm,, in middle-east???"
" in far-east"
" i honestly don't know where it is"

answering the 3rd questions also the same with some unbelieved or somehow shock mode on...

I did think that with the mr. Obama being a President, maybe the name of Indonesia as a country would be more introduced and known to more Americans, but i guess after all these years, the knowledge of Indonesian country is still not quite widely spread... and really  that's too bad ....


Well, well, well, it surely makes me sad ...
vividly remembered my university time, where only very little people know where indonesia is, yet more americans are familiar to bali ........


Let's put this reality condition as a part of our homework (government or personal) on how to make Indonesia more well-known in the eyes of the world ...Rather than busy organizing demo here n there, might as well, put our time in better use   ....

It is true that many of the world뭩 most popular and well-known waterparks are located in the United States, so it may come as a surprise to hear that Korea뭩 four big waterparks have made it to the list of the world뭩 top 20, with Caribbean Bay at Everland making third place.?

According to a joint survey by the Themed Entertainment Association and Economic Research Associates, Caribbean Bay attracted 1.4 million visitors last year, ranking third in terms of the number of visitors.

Disneyland 뭩 Typhoon Lagoon in the United States ranked first, with over two million visitors, followed by another U.S. waterpark: Blizzard Beach in Miami, with 1.9 million people.

Meanwhile, Korea뭩 three other popular waterparks also made the list.

Ocean World was in 8th place, with 900,000 visitors last year, while Deoksan Spa Castle ranked 11th and Seorak Waterpia 13th.

What is also noteworthy about this is that Korea is the only Asian country that has more than two parks on the list.

I didn't really pay attention,
I thought it was just a regular suicide n crime scene,

Tp ternyata kasus ini belum tuntas2 juga,
mgg lalu liat di homepagenya fb,
ada temen yang join group about this David student,
besoknya ada lagi another friend join another group related to David,
bbrp hari kemudian ada lagi other related David's group...
Yang akhirnya membuat gw juga jadi penasaran,
and start reading thoroughly...

hhmmm... what a case....
it startled me ...

i don't want to comment of the truth of his dead and his 'assumably act' to his professor,
but i started to think...

how would his parent feel...
After all this time, already proud to have his son
doing and performed well in the Educational world...
Participating several times on the Mathematics World Olympiade,
Best Student for maybe all his life....

and Suddenly,,,, Baammmm...
News that their son is dead of suicidal act,
and More to the Baammmmm....
before that, his univ prof had been killed becoz of his act....

Feel very sorry for his parents and family,
I couldn't imagine how would it feel , not even a glimpse...
I am very crushed and symphatize for his parents...
Gak Gampang loh membesarkan Anak sampai segitu besar,
just think....
bagaimana proses anak masih kecil hingga sekarang
university student yang berprestasi...


Well... hopefully his parents and family
would be given more strength and faith to deal with all of these...

sayangnya karena udah agak telat,

sekarang Poligami gak diperbolehkan,
baik dari negara (hukumnya, maksudnya) atopun dari hukum agamanya ...
Karena setelah banyak dilakukan, dampaknya malah gak baik ...

Pokoknya banyak hal lah yang didiskus kemaren pagi about lebih banyak negatif points daripada positif points dari berPoligami ini ...

gw liat Anni M bukan sosok cewek yang lemah kok ...
cantik, hhmm.... kayaknya kaya juga (at least berada lah),

Agak kaget, dan terus terang yah, gw kok feeling bahwa
group ini agak serakah gitu ....
Kenapa gw bilang gitu ...
Gw pikir groupnya RCTI, GLOBAL , and TPI itu udah termasuk
group yang kuat di bagian pertivian ... media elektronik istilahnya ...
waduh, sekarang kok masuk juga lagi ke media cetak ....

Media cetak padahal persaingan sudah cukup ketat khan
antara grupnya Kompas, Tempo, Suara Pembaharuan, dll ...
Memang sih, sekrang persaingan udah bebas tanpa hambatan,
tapi mustinya lebih concern dikit khan boleh ...

Watching for three days now, how the tsunami affect everybody in Aceh ... how the tsunami just suddenly came and swept away everything ....

after all this disaster ....

Can't help to feel very depressed looking and watching all this ... can you imagine ... What God gives , He can also take it away within seconds and minutes ...

Hear the babies screaming,
the mommies crying and praying,
the daddies trying to keep the family together,
trying to find survival ....

Almost 30,000 people dead already ...
not considering how many people missing ...
Dead bodies laying around everywhere ...
The number of deaths still can be doubled ...
